June Blog Hop Featuring Dreaming Tree

Welcome to the Blog Hop featuring
Dreaming Tree SVG Files

I am really excited you visited this hop! We have 10 blogs with talented paper crafters waiting for your visit. And to make it extra special, each blog will be hosting a raffle for your chance to win a $10 Dreaming Tree gift certificate, compliments of Leo, from Dreaming Tree. We are also going to have 1 $20 Grand Prize winner. That is 11 chances to win Dreaming Tree gift certificates! So be sure to see the links at the bottom of this post for the list of blogs participating.

Now onto my project. Since it is June and Father's Day is just around the corner, I decided I would make something I could give to my Dad. So I made a "Trophy" version of the Irish Coffee Mug SVG from Dreaming Tree.

Don't let the photo full you. This trophy is pretty big. It stands 8 3/4 inches tall! The original file shows only 1 handle, but I made 2 so that I could make a trophy. I cut up some paper into small strips to make my 'filling' which I stuffed into the trophy, and then topped it with a gift card. I used AC cardstock for the beige base, DCWV Once Upon a Time (my favorite paper pack) for the patterned paper, and Heidi Swapp glitter black for the trim.

I have to admit, I was really afraid to tackle on the handles. I watched the tutorial video several times, and it looked easy, but I was still afraid. So that is what I started with. And to my surprise, they WERE really easy to assemble. Honestly, I can't wait to make these handles again and put them on other projects. They really are versatile!

I hope you enjoyed visiting my blog and checking out my project. I was so excited to get started right after I cut everything out, that I forgot to take pictures as I cut and assembled. In the future I will try to remember to take photos of the assembly process.
