For my January 7th Design Team Post for The Cutting Cafe', the team was to use the Everyday Greetings Set. We were also supposed to keep it clean and simple. I tried, but ended up using some bling and more.
I used a heart card that I had from the Silhouette Store that I edited a bit. And the actual greeting I ended up using print and cut and made the design using ellipses and circles.
There were some challenges I faced. First my Versamark pen seemed really dry. It isn't that old either. I used that on the edges on the card part and then used Red ZING embossing powder. I have used Ranger, Hero Arts and WOW and have great success. But the ZING just didn't cut it for me. Not sure if it was the dry pen or the powder. It just didn't pop and shine like I wanted. Then I moved on to stamp the clear ink on the card to give it an embossed look. But the Versamark pad was dry. I had a refill bottle and I added the ink and it was juicy. Well I guess too juicy as it was blobby. Oh well, I guess that's were the sequins came in lol. They hid some of the globby mess :)
Overall I think it came out ok. Definitely not clean and simple, but I like it non the less.
Thank you for stopping by and taking a look at this short post. I hope it inspired you to use different supplies.
